Statewide, soccer swings into high gear.....

Dear Association & Club Presidents and Registrars, District Commissioners, Committee Members

CC: Board of Directors and Soccer Operations Committee

In three days, thousands of young soccer players will hit the field to soak up the joys of our beautiful game and thousands of parents, grandparents, guardians, siblings and family members will fill the sidelines to watch their young players demonstrate their skills.  All of this is possible because you, along with the other volunteers that make up your individual organizations, donate your time day in and day out for the benefit and growth of our youth.  As we start the 2011/2012 season, I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for the hard work you do and appreciate the great joy our organization brings to the kids of Washington.

Each day the Washington Youth Soccer staff works to provide and create resources to support the work you are doing at the local level.  As you go through the season, know that we are just a phone call or email away to offer our assistance.

Our number one goal here at the office is to provide clear communication pieces that will easily bring our resources to you. Hillary Beehler, Organization and Member Services Director, has a member services blog, Set Plays, where she posts about nonprofit resources, training opportunities, best practices, policies and more.  I encourage you all to subscribe to Set Plays so that you can take full advantage of this rich resource.  We also have our monthly newsletter PlayOn! and our monthly coaches newsletter Technical Zone: in focus – you can subscribe to those here.  Gary White, Technical Director, is offering free coaching seminars to all of our Associations – to get more information on Gary coming out to your organization, email Kimberly Grant, Technical Administrator, at Kimberly@WashingtonYouthSoccer.org.

Keep up with us daily by following us on twitter and liking us on facebook.  If you have suggestions of new or additional channels of communication you would like to see, please email our Director of Marketing and Communication, Elizabeth Flannery, at Elizabeth@WashingtonYouthSoccer.org

We look forward to hearing about your time on the field and building even more ways to support your soccer efforts this year.  Best of luck this season!

Yours in Soccer,
Terry Fisher
