The Key Peninsula program was new for 2022. We are excited for year 3! Harbor Soccer offers the Key Peninsula program for 4 to 7 year-old (U8) boys and girls. The program is an introduction to the sport with an emphasis on FUN and building individual skills and a lifelong love of the sport.
The Key Peninsula program is run similar to our Micro program and is played on a small field, using a small size 3 soccer ball. Coed teams of 6-8 players are formed by HSC according to the Rules of Competition from WYS and coached by volunteer parents. Games are played at Volunteer Park on Saturdays, from September to early November in the Harbor Soccer Club Home League (HSCHL). Teams play 4 v 4 against other Key Peninsula teams with no assigned goalkeeper.
All player registration is online. Registration opens April 1st and closes July 31st. Registration fees include the players uniform kit and soccer ball. Early-bird registration fees apply April 1st to May 31st. Teams will be formed no later than July 31st. All teams will be looking for parent volunteer coaches. Training sessions will be held 1x per week for 30-45 minutes starting in mid to late August and continuing for the remainder of the season; contingent on field availability and daylight hours.
Player, Coach and/or Team special requests are welcomed in Harbor Recreational programs. Although we cannot guarantee they can be met, we work diligently to honor them. If you have a player, coach, or team request, be sure to note it on the applicable field of your player's profile in Affinity/Sports Connect during registration. Please do not email special requests. They need only to be listed on their profile, so they are visible during team assigning. HSC cannot accommodate special requests for specific training days or locations. We appreciate your assistance!
Player Age Groups are determined based on the calendar year in which the player was born, as opposed to the school year dates. Click on the link below for the current Player Age Chart to determine the age group for your child. View: Player Age Chart
Are you interested in coaching? We need you! Harbor is lucky to have decades of youth soccer experience to share with our recreational players and coaches. Including curriculum and best practices from licensed professional coaches and players in our Premier program. We understand just the thought of coaching little kids, especially our own, brings several questions to mind – we have answers! Reach out to our Key Peninsula Program Director with your questions or for more information and the game plan on coaching in Harbor Rec. We greatly appreciate our parent volunteers and work hard to support their coaching success with Harbor Soccer Club.
