Coaching Philosophy

I embrace and promote the philosophy of Harbor Soccer Club to create competent and confident players on and off the field.   I believe that playing sports as a child not only builds character and confidence, but also gives a sense of accomplishment and purpose.  It teaches the importance of working as a team and how to overcome adversity.  My focus is on player development and not wins or losses at the younger ages.  By working as a team and playing with great soccer skills, the results will follow.  I want my players to understand and respect the game, themselves, their teammates, their opponents, and the referees.

About Me

I am a professional engineer and have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects throughout the world.  Building the New Tacoma Narrows Bridge brought me to Gig Harbor in 2002 where I live with my wife and three kids.  All three of my kids are active within Harbor Soccer Club, two on the Premier side, one on the recreational side.  When I am not on the soccer field, I like to spend time at Lake Cushman surfing, wakeboarding, boating, and hiking.
