Background:

I am a career Firefighter/Paramedic and married to my wife Jen. We have 3 kids, 2 who play in the Harbor Premier Soccer Program. A few years ago, my oldest son wanted to make the move from recreational soccer to Premier Soccer. After doing some research we felt that Harbor Premier was the best fit for him. I also wanted to get back into coaching soccer so I approached the club about any opportunities to coach with the club. Fortunately, they were in need of another coach and so began my renewed coaching career.

I grew up in Texas and I started playing soccer when I was 5. I played club Soccer for the Austin Flyers as a goalkeeper. At New Braunfels High School I was the first 4 year letterman in soccer. I played one season of College Soccer at Schriener University before transferring to St. Edward’s University to finish my college playing career and obtained my B.A. in Health, Recreation and Sports Management with an emphasis in Athletic Training.

After graduating I became the Assistant Men’s & Women’s Coach as well as the Goalkeeper Coach for both teams at St. Edward’s University. I then moved to Washington State and was the Girls JV Coach at Ridgefield HS in Ridgefield, WA. I was then hired as the Co-Head Men’s Soccer coach at Clark College in Vancouver, WA. I also coached for FC Vancouver during this time.

My coaching philosophy is based on teaching the game of soccer. I want to teach my players to have the skills and knowledge to make good decisions on the field and have the skill set to accomplish the decisions they make. I also want them to be good teammates. I want them to not only work hard for themselves, but to work for their teammates. Soccer teaches players many valuable lessons that carry over into their lives off the field. At the end of the day I want all my players to be good humans as well as good soccer players.
