Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Harbor Spring Development Program?

The Harbor Spring Development Program (SDP) is our Select soccer offering designed to continue player development following the Fall Recreational season. Training begins in mid-January and runs through April.

2) Where are games and practices?

Practices will take place twice a week in Gig Harbor. Matches will take place on the weekends with location varying. Home matches will be in Gig Harbor but away matches could be as close as University Place or as far as Seattle depending on what teams are in your age group and division. Typically the first game takes place the last weekend of February and finishes approximately mid-April. For more information on the league that Harbor teams will be participating in, please check out the North Puget Sound League (NPSL).

3) Why Play Select Soccer?

Select soccer provides a valuable opportunity for players who wish to continue their development after the Fall Recreation soccer season. It also serves as an ideal platform for athletes interested in transitioning to Premier soccer, helping them stay active and prepared for tryouts in May.

4) Who Can Participate in the SDP?

The SDP is open to all interested players in the age range of U9 - U14. While we encourage Harbor Recreation players to join, we also invite players from other programs outside of Gig Harbor to apply.

5) What Are the Costs and What Do They Cover?

The cost for the Spring season is $550. This fee encompasses administrative services, coaching equipment, referee services, field rentals and a uniform bundle which consists of three jerseys for training and game days.

6) Who Can Coach Select Soccer?

We welcome coaches from various levels and districts. If a coach is not yet licensed, Harbor Soccer will cover the costs of online Grassroots coaching courses to ensure that Select coaches are licensed or in the process of obtaining a license.

7) How Can I Sign Up for the Harbor SDP?
